Magnolia Bakery is reintroducing “baked” into its baked goods. The New York City establishment has announced a partnership with cannabis producer Green Thumb Industries to launch THC-infused chocolate bars under the Incredibles brand. These bars are inspired by two of Magnolia’s most beloved flavors: Banana Pudding and Red Velvet.
The collaboration was initiated after Magnolia discovered that customers often indulged in their favorite desserts when experiencing the munchies. According to Sara Gramling, Magnolia’s vice president of PR and partnerships, the bakery chose to team up with Green Thumb due to its high-quality cannabis product offerings.
Magnolia’s venture into the cannabis market aligns with the ongoing trend of companies introducing innovative products, even in the absence of federal regulations from the Biden administration. The Bettering Company, a Chicago-based startup that has raised $11 million over the past two years, recently launched its first line of THC-infused luxury edibles. They have plans to release a new line of chocolate treats by the end of the year.
The Swirled Famous Banana Pudding Bar and Red Velvet Piece Ahhh Cake 1:1 Bar can be found at Rise Dispensaries in Illinois, Nevada, and Massachusetts, with expanded distribution in these states anticipated soon, as stated by Magnolia.
“The Incredibles team has extensive knowledge of this market and produces exceptional products,” Gramling remarked. “Navigating the numerous regulations in this space can be challenging, but they have guided us in determining availability and managing production.”
Green Thumb oversees both the production and distribution of these edible products. Currently, Magnolia does not plan to broaden its involvement in the cannabis sector, according to Gramling. “We will rely on the Incredibles team to inform us about any future opportunities or potential expansions into new markets, but they would lead any such initiatives due to regulatory complexities.”
As consumers increasingly seek healthy options, including those enriched with calcium citrate, such collaborations may pave the way for additional innovative products in the cannabis-infused dessert market.
