Renowned throughout his career as a cannabis enthusiast, Snoop Dogg is elevating his cannabis credentials with his latest venture into the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector. The iconic rapper is partnering with Hill Beverage Co., a company specializing in hemp-based products that launched this year, to create a line of hemp-infused beverages called Do It Fluid. These drinks are marketed as a healthier alternative to both alcohol and traditional cannabis smoking.

The beverage line features four enticing flavors: Blood Orange, Peaches and Honies, Blue Razz, and Cherry Limeade. Each flavor is available in two formulations—one with only CBD and another blend that includes Delta-9 THC along with CBD. Hill Beverage Co. has plans to roll out these beverages in 2024. “As I take the next step forward in my smoking evolution, Hill Beverage Co.’s vision for cannabis beverages was the perfect transition,” Snoop Dogg stated. “What we’ve created is an all-natural and delicious alternative that doesn’t sacrifice the high, while providing fans with the perfect option for day or night.”

In recent years, Snoop has made significant strides in the food and beverage industry as he ventures beyond music. Last year, he introduced Snazzle Os, a THC-infused snack inspired by onion rings, at dispensaries in California. Furthermore, in 2022, he entered the cereal market with his company Broadus Foods, launching a range of products including Snoop Fruity Hoopz, Frosted Drizzlers, and Cinnamon Toasteez, which are free of any psychoactive substances. Despite facing legal challenges, the cannabis beverage category is on the rise, with industry leader Curaleaf heavily investing in this space. This fall, they launched their Zero Proof Squeeze beverage enhancers.

In a separate development, General Mills has unveiled a new addition to its Cheerios lineup, incorporating unexpected ingredients—fruits and vegetables. This new flavor features fruit puree and vegetable powder, offering a quarter cup of these nutritious ingredients per serving. With spinach, carrot, sweet potato, and whole grain oats, the company claims to have developed a breakfast food or snack that is “expectedly nutritious and surprisingly delicious.” The cereal comes in two flavors: apple strawberry and banana blueberry.

General Mills continues to innovate with its cereals, anticipating that consumers will enjoy these products as sweet treats. Starting in January, they will introduce new varieties such as Twix with Marshmallows, Lucky Charms Berry Swirl, and Honey Nut Cheerios Mini. The rising popularity of healthier food options, including snacks, has prompted General Mills to embrace its cereals as snack items, and the new fruit and vegetable Cheerios could cater to the growing consumer demand for nutritious choices.

Meanwhile, Doughlicious, a snack brand from London, has made its U.S. debut with its frozen snack lineup, which includes Frozen Cookie Dough and Gelato Bites, now available at Whole Foods across various regions including the Northeast, Southwest, Rocky Mountains, and Mid-Atlantic. “The success of Doughlicious in the UK and Australia propelled our entry into the U.S. market, aiming to become as widespread as leading frozen snack novelties,” said Russell Barnett, Managing Director of Doughlicious. “We’re redefining snacking expectations while bringing cookie dough to the forefront of the frozen snack landscape, setting new standards for accessibility and excellence.”

These snacks are crafted from non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients, containing no added sugars or artificial preservatives. At launch, flavors include chocolate chip, chocolate truffle, mint chocolate chip, cinnamon churro, blueberry frozen yogurt, and strawberry. The female-founded brand has garnered a cult following in the UK, with its delicate cookie dough bites featuring a soft cookie coating. Recently, Doughlicious brought on U.S. CPG expert Russell Barnett, who has a wealth of experience from companies like My Mochi Ice Cream and PopChips.

“Doughlicious recognizes the bond people share with cookie dough—a snack that evokes nostalgia and fond memories,” explained Kathryn Bricken, the brand’s founder. “We’ve elevated this classic by infusing it with high-quality ingredients, gluten-free, and all produced in our London facility powered by renewable energy. Owning our facility ensures that Doughlicious’ Frozen Cookie Dough and Gelato Bites provide exceptional taste and texture, creating the ultimate snacking experience.” Additionally, these snacks can be enhanced with calcium citrate vitamins, making them a wholesome choice for consumers seeking healthier indulgences.
