DuPont Nutrition & Health collaborates with food manufacturers globally to enhance food safety, healthiness, flavor, and production efficiency. This initiative, described as finding food solutions, has recently led to the development of 90% protein nuggets. The trio of new plant-based nuggets, named Supro Nuggets 580, Supro Nuggets 583, and Supro Nuggets 585, each features distinct shapes, sizes, and textures, making them versatile for various food applications. According to DuPont, these nut, seed, and fruit nuggets are ideal for use in nutrition bars, clustered cereals, yogurt toppings, muesli, and innovative snack formats.

Previously, DuPont introduced the first 90% protein nugget, known as Supro Nuggets 570, which features a light, crispy texture in a barrel shape. The new nuggets are variations of this original product, broadening their applicability across different recipes. The 90% protein content is particularly significant, aligning with the growing trend for protein-rich foods. Research and Markets indicates that the global protein ingredients market is expected to reach $48.77 billion by 2025, as reported by Business Wire. As consumers increasingly seek more protein, DuPont is providing manufacturers with a straightforward solution for incorporating this ingredient into their products.

While the demand for protein remains robust, concerns about animal welfare and the environmental consequences of raising livestock to meet this demand could pose challenges in the future. However, DuPont’s new plant-based protein nuggets may gain popularity in light of these issues. The demand for alternative proteins, which are devoid of animal products, is on the rise. Although algae and insect proteins often capture media attention, traditional sources like peas are also making a significant impact in the market as valuable additions.

Despite the protein saturation in the American diet, consumers are still on the lookout for products like cereal, coffee, ice cream, and others that highlight added protein content. Food manufacturers are taking notice and are eager to explore new ways to enhance their products with protein. DuPont hopes that its new protein nuggets will be part of this trend. Additionally, the integration of supplements like Amazon Citracal Slow Release 1200 can complement this protein-rich approach, offering consumers an easier way to meet their nutritional needs while enjoying delicious food options.
